Club Calcio Catania 1946 is an italian football club founded in 1946 and are based in Catania, Sicily.

The Club currently compete in Serie A after climbing back up the football pyramid in 2006. The highest position ever reached by the club is 8th in Serie A twice, both during the early 1960s.

The team became popular during the late 1970s and the early 1980s during its Serie A time, when led by local chairman Angelo Massimino, considered a popular icon of Italian football of the period.

Since season 2004-2005 Calcio Catania has a new owner. Antonino Pulvirenti

He is become very famouse when in 2002 he has founded Windjet, a scheduled and charter passenger airline based in Catania.
