
Angelo Massimino Stadium (previously known as Stadio Cibali) is a multi-use stadium in Catania, Italy.
It is currently used mostly for football matches and the home of Calcio Catania. The stadium was built in 1937 and holds 23,420.
During the years has had various restructuring, the most important were in 1991 and 1997.
The stadium holds more than 30.000 supporters but the latest rules on safety in stadiums have limited seats and today it can holds 23.420 supporters.
It was named on 2002 after former Catania chairman Angelo Massimino.
Angelo Massimino Stadium has got 5 gymnasiums under the terraces, 16 box for journalists, 6 changing rooms, a regular training field and many office.
Morover it has got one of the most importan track athletics in Italy.
Angelo Massimino Stadium hosted Olympic University Games in 1997, Mediterrean Games in 2003 and 2 Italian matches: in 1998 against Slovakia and in 2002 against United States.
