The Italian Serie A season will start on August 22-23, and defending champion FC Inter will make debut against recently promoted Bari.

Apart from Inter vs. Bari, the first round at the Calcio will offer the following clashes: Juventus vs. Chievo Verona and AC Milan vs. Siena; the draw was held at the National Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) premises.

According to the draw, round 2 (August 29-30) will count on Milan vs. Inter and Roma vs. Juventus.

In round 8 (October 18), the highlight is Milan vs. Roma, while Palermo vs. Catania will be held on November 22.

The season will include four games during the week (September 23, October 28, January 6 and March 24), and will finish on May 16 with a thrilling clash: Milan vs. Juventus.

Bologna - Fiorentina 1-1

Bologna and Fiorentina shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in the first Serie A match of the new season at the Stadio Dal Ara.
Adrian Mutu scored the equalizing goal for Fiorentina in their 1-1 draw at Bologna on Saturday.

The home side had the better of the first half and took the lead through former Viola striker Pablo Osvaldo in the 24th minute.

Osvaldo missed the chance to make it two before the visitors, boosted by the entry onto the field of Adrian Mutu, equalized through the Romanian striker in the 65th minute to earn a point for Cesare Prandelli's side.

Siena - Milan 1-2

Milan kicked off their season with a tricky away match against Siena at the Artemio Franchi stadium. Leonardo’s team made a solid start to their Serie A campaign, earning a deserved 2-1 win thanks to a brace from starlet Alexandre Pato, with Ronaldinho playing a major role in both goals.

Ghezzal scored for Siena.
